As the leaves turn colors and Thanksgiving approaches, we’re reflecting on all the amazing things East Coast colleges offer. Whether it’s the bustling campus energy, the beautiful fall foliage, or the incredible opportunities for academic growth, there’s so much to be thankful for in the world of East Coast college admissions.
A Time for Gratitude
First, let’s talk about what we’re grateful for this year: YOU! Our amazing students, parents, and school partners keep the spirit of college prep alive all year long. Working with so many of you has been a pleasure, and we can’t wait to help even more students embark on their college journey in 2024.
Thanksgiving is a time to appreciate the opportunities ahead. It’s also the perfect reminder to stay focused as we approach deadlines. Early Action and Early Decision deadlines are just around the corner, so while carving the turkey, don’t forget to carve out time for those last-minute edits on your applications. (Trust us, we’ve seen students submit applications from the Thanksgiving table—multitasking at its finest!)
Welcoming Dr. Kathryn to the East Coast Admissions Family!
We are thrilled to announce a new addition to the East Coast Admissions team: Dr. Kathryn! A Harvard Ph.D. graduate and a powerhouse in the Ivy League counseling community, Dr. Kathryn brings our team years of expertise and a wealth of knowledge. With her passion for helping students navigate the Ivy League admissions process, she’s a perfect fit for our growing team. We couldn’t be more excited to welcome her to the East Coast family, and we know you’ll find her insights invaluable as we continue supporting students on their college journeys.
Holiday Prep: What’s Coming Up
The end of the year brings plenty of chances to wind down (finally!) and recharge for the exciting year ahead. But it also signals the beginning of some important prep work for the coming months.
As you prep for the holidays, here’s what’s on our radar for East Coast college-bound students:
- Winter Break = College Prep Time: Take advantage of the holiday downtime! Whether planning college visits or finishing up applications, it’s a great time to do some last-minute homework (we promise, it’s fun).
- Test Prep & Finals: If your exams are looming, now’s the time to wrap up any test prep. Remember, we’ve partnered with Magoosh and Wyzant for SAT/ACT prep, so take advantage of those resources!
- Alumni Networks & Networking: The holidays often bring family and alumni gatherings. Why not take the chance to connect with some East Coast college alumni? It’s an easy way to get insights and tips from those who’ve been there and done that!
Holiday Fun & College Spirit
East Coast colleges are buzzing with festive spirit as we approach the holiday season! From New York to Boston to Philly, the campuses are alive with seasonal activities—from ice skating on the quad to holiday light displays that could rival any Hallmark movie. College is not just about academics; it’s about experiencing the full college life.
A Quick Tip: Give Yourself Some Grace
As we all gear up for the busy months ahead, here’s a little reminder: giving yourself grace is okay. The application process can be stressful, and that’s perfectly normal. Take time to enjoy the holidays, and remember, the path to college is a journey, not a sprint.
That’s it for this month’s Cleo Series Monthly newsletter edition! As always, we’re here to help with any questions, prep, or advice. Let’s make this holiday season a time for celebration, reflection, and looking forward to an exciting year ahead.
Have a great Thanksgiving, and stay tuned for more updates soon!
With thanks and cheer,
Cleopatra Kotey (CEO)
